Hi! I am Asta and I am here to help you. I am the founder and executive director of Beautiful Mind Therapy, a private practice that provides effective counseling to individuals, couples, and families.
My clients tell me I am compassionate, warm, and goal-oriented. Life is too short not to laugh, so I frequently use humor in therapy sessions. You can count on me to help improve your life, reach goals, and find answers.
A career in clinical psychology was the natural choice for me since I always felt like psychology is my calling. I was born in Lithuania, yet spent most of my adult life in the United States. From an early age I have hoped that I would spend my life helping others. I started volunteering at a Suicide Crisis Line when I was sixteen. I later started a drug prevention program in Lithuania titled "Youth to Youth." My professional training began with a Bachelor’s Degree in Psychology from Roosevelt University in Schaumburg, IL. I completed my Masters of Arts in Clinical Professional Psychology at the same university, graduating with honors. Throughout my professional journey, I sought out the most cutting edge techniques, and I have trained extensively with the leading experts in cognitive-behavioral therapy (CBT) as well as dialectical behavioral therapy (DBT). I was fortunate enough to be able to attend the world-famous Evolution of Psychotherapy Conference in Anaheim, CA (2013) and (2017) and learn from the most recognized psychologists in the field.
Following my education, I was offered opportunities to work in a variety of facilities, including several hospitals, mental health centers, and an emergency room. I have an extensive training in working with eating disorders as I was part of an inpatient treatment team at Alexian Brothers Behavioral Health Hospital eating disorders and self-injury unit. The ability to work with such a diverse group of facilities has allowed me to develop a wide range of professional expertise.
My clientele include someone who experience stress at work or school, and others who struggle with relationship issues, fear of change, and unhealthy eating habits.
