Are you feeling overwhelmed by expectations set by yourself or others, stressed at school or home? Do you feel that you don’t fit in with your classmates? Are you dealing with too much social media drama? Do you have a hard time meeting friends or getting a date? I love working with teenagers and young adults and I can help you!
My name is Kristina Staack and I am a licensed clinical professional counselor. I have spent the last few years working with children, adolescents, and adults in a community mental health center. I have experience working with clients addressing a number of issues ranging from stress at work and school to feeling as though life lacks meaning. I graduated with a Bachelor’s degree in Psychology from DePaul University and went on to obtain my Master’s in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from the Adler School of Professional Psychology.
I am also a new mom and relate to the struggles of adjusting to life as a new parent. If you suspect that you or your partner might be struggling with postpartum depression, then I can help. I am very helpful when working with adults who are struggling with depression and anxiety. Could it be you feel like you are in a rut or are feeling overwhelmed with anxiety or feelings of inadequacy. Or maybe you feel like every day is dark and there is no point.
I have a collaborative approach to therapy, where I utilize Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), strength based, and solution focused approaches, as well as acceptance and commitment therapy (ACT) mindfulness and dialectical behavioral therapy (DBT), and motivational interviewing. I strongly believe that each and every one of us is the expert of our own lives, regardless of age. It is my job to help guide you to reach your goals and discover your own personal strengths to live a life that you find more fulfilling.
I am looking forward to meeting with you soon to see if I can help you begin your journey. I think life can be a lot easier and I can help you get there. Please don’t hesitate to call me.
