My practice is focused on supporting children, adolescents, and adults who are going through developmental or life transitions. When working with children and teens, I help to address relational conflicts, family dysfunction, and behavioral and academic problems. I also support parents and work with them to create a structure and discipline that will improve family life and child-parent relationships. I have an extensive history of working with adults. I help my clients to evaluate what is and is not working in their lives, to set goals that align with how they want their lives to be, and to guide them in the process of successfully dealing with different types of barriers that prevent them from having more fulfilling lives.

My role as a counselor is to work collaboratively with my clients to help them figure out how to reach a sense of inner peace. We get to this point through the establishment of a sincere, honest, caring, and hard-working relationship. I have received very positive feedback from clients and supervisors, who have told me that they can see how much I care about the people I work with. Problems I have successfully addressed include mood and anxiety disorders such as depression, bipolar disorder, OCD, social anxiety, panic disorder, and different phobias.

I received my bachelor's degree in psychology from La Sabana University in Bogota, Colombia. I received my master's degree in clinical professional psychology from Roosevelt University in Chicago, where I graduated as a member of Psi Chi, The International Honor Society In Psychology.

I have experience as the client on the couch as well as the counselor in the chair. Both positions have provided me with a wealth of knowledge and experience in helping clients. My own positive experience in counseling was actually one of the reasons I entered the field. I love it and I am passionate about it. I enjoy connecting with individuals and doing my best to understand them. I deeply care about their lives and their concerns. I like working with people to help them find inner tranquility and a better quality of life. Helping people get to that point is one of the most rewarding things I have ever experienced. I look forward to meeting you!
